What am I giving to?

CURE in Dominican Republic

The picture above is of CURE in Dominican Republic. The doctors, nurses, technicians, cooks, cleaners, and administrators of CURE Dominican Republic are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Liam. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $400 for Liam and kids like him. When you give a gift through Liam's CUREkids profile, your contribution is designated to an exclusive country fund for CURE's work in Dominican Republic, and those funds can only be used for operational expenses to treat patients in Dominican Republic. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Liam. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

"God brought us here, so that's why we know that everything's going to be fine!" Liam told our Paola, who works in our Spiritual Department.

For us, it is a great joy to introduce you to Liam who has just joined our CURE family! Liam is a calm little guy, but at the same time, very sweet and playful. It's always a great responsibility to care for kids, but his case represents a little more responsibility since his parents reside in the United States and they're going to leave him in the country with his aunt in order to continue the Ponseti method with us. It is a big privilege to know that his parents trust us to give him the best care!

Liam was being treated in the United States before, but his parents were not seeing much of an improvement. They were here in the country visiting some family on their vacation and they heard about CURE in the Dominican Republic, so they decided to check us out. Our doctors explained the procedure and the commitment it would take, and his parents realized they would have to entrust him to his aunt in order to see the treatment through. They knew that they had to go back to the States but they also knew that CURE was an excellent place for their son to have the opportunity to receive healing.

We know this is not going to be easy journey for them, but we encourage everyone to pray for Liam and his family. His parents are going back to the States in a few weeks and Liam is going to stay in the DR with his aunt and extended family. We are inspired by Liam's childlike faith that "everything will fine" and so it's not hard to have faith that God's name will be glorified during Liam's time with us!
