Paul came in first place in the race to get back to the ward! He was almost pulling off his victory dance when we caught up with him and his new friends, Elizabeth, James, and Kevin (behind him consecutively). Paul went into the ward after his second serial cast done in the physiotherapy department. He is still viable for one more session of casting then a decision to proceed for surgery will be confirmed after it. Let's keep on remembering Paul in our prayers as he prepares to go in for his leg procedure.

Leakey went through a procedure that involved fitting his right leg with The Taylor Spatial Frame (TSF), a modern multi-planar external fixator that combines the ease of application and computer accuracy in the reduction of fractures. These frames are aligned carefully to fit the later process of slowly adjusting the frame to correct the bone deformity. Leakey will be back in the ward with this frame and his mother will be keeping him company as he recovers. Let's lift their spirits with a word of encouragement through your Get-Well-Messages.
Elizabeth made a new friend in James who has been there for a while. With James' contagious laugh, Elizabeth couldn't hold it in but let out a big laugh when they saw us coming with our cameras. They were out basking in the morning sun which is good for their recovery especially helping in boosting their immunity with the sun's Vitamin D. Please continue praying for the treatment process!

During Faith’s surgery today we caught this moment where the surgeon and his assistant were selecting the appropriate Taylor Spatial Frame which would be used in the correction of Faith’s leg. A Taylor Spatial Frame guarantees stability in that, Faith can almost immediately start weight bearing which will speed up the process of healing the intentional fracture made during the surgery. It also gives both the surgeon and the guardian control as they can adjust the frame allowing for better management of the fracture. However, the process of healing can be long and tiresome and we are asking you to kindly remember Faith and her mum Florence in prayer as they begin this journey. You can let them know that you are thinking about them and praying for them by sending a Get Well Message.
Elizabeth is back at CURE Kenya for her second operation. She is now ready for her left clubfoot to be fully corrected. We hadn’t noticed that our friend Elizabeth was in the hospital and so when she saw us passing by she called out from the window and said hi! We are happy that she is here, please be praying for her upcoming operation!
