Zimbabwe - Age 7
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for Tamia! Her turnaround from yesterday's procedure was quick, and we found her and her mom packed and ready to go home this morning. She was excited to return home with her CURE care kit full of goodies and literature to read. She will return next week for her second procedure, and we can't wait for her smile to return to us! In the meantime, send her a message to let her know you are thinking of her and keep her and her family in your prayers.
Niger - Age 12
Manirou had a successful surgery! Dr. Shelley inserted k-wires in his tibia (the main bone of the lower leg). It will help straighten his leg and improve his condition. Manirou rests now in bed, in our ward. Thank you for your support! Please keep praying for his health and soul.
Niger - Age 13
Abel came out of the operating room feeling a little bit dizzy, but nevertheless, a big smile was covering his face. His surgery went well. His femur (the upper bone of the leg) was broken and a rush nail was put in to help to straighten it. It will take a while to heal, but he is getting there. Abel is ready to take a good nap in his bed now. Please continue praying for his healing.
Niger - Infant
The surgery went smoothly. Yes, there was a little pain after, but even so, Roufaida came out smiling! Thank you for giving to her the chance to get the healing she needs. Roufaida soon fell asleep once again in the ward. We encourage her to rest up and heal. Tomorrow is another day, another grace!
Zimbabwe - Age 6
What a lovely surprise seeing Kimberly at CURE Zimbabwe today! We were so happy to see her smiling and standing up straight! She came in to have her casts removed and her operation site inspected. Her legs are so much straighter, but she felt some discomfort when bending her knees. We will see Kimberly on Tuesday when she comes in to see the doctors. In the meantime, send her a get well message as she continues recovering from her surgery!
