"We shall be providing a foot brace for John in the next mobile clinic near their home," Victor, the Orthopedic Technologist, confirmed. John is still recuperating at home and will come to the mobile clinic near his home in October. The brace will keep his healing foot in place after the orthopedic clinic team removes his cast. Please pray for John as he heals. Thank you!
Chaltu's first surgery at CURE Children's Hospital of Ethiopia in 2017 helped her move her neck better than ever. However, she developed more contractures since she was away for many years. So, Dr. Tesfaye admitted her to the hospital to release further contractures on her neck. Chaltu recently went to the OR for contracture release surgery. After the successful one-hour procedure, she was taken to the ward to rest and recover. We know this resilient young girl will heal in no time, but please keep her in your prayers and send her encouraging messages to help her know she has people rooting for her!
Young boss Bereket has fully recovered from his recent surgery. As we reported in his last update, Bereket got the metal plates in his legs surgically removed, and he spent some time in the orthopedic ward recovering. Praise God, he was ready to be discharged when we recently went to the ward to visit him. Bereket will return to the hospital in a few weeks. Please send him home with your prayers and well wishes.
There's never a dull moment when Yibeltal [or “Yibe," as we affectionately call him] is around. This little guy had fully recovered from his first surgery and was preparing to set sail for home when we visited him. Praise God for his quick healing. Yibeltal will return to CURE Ethiopia for a check-up in February of next year, so please keep him in your thoughts and prayers until then.
Today, we got a glimpse of how Alamudin likes to pass the time, playing soccer on his mom's phone. He is now pain-free and fully recovered from his recent surgery. We look forward to the day he finishes treatment and gets to play soccer with his friends. Thank you, CURE friends, for your support that will help make this happen.
