Lwiza
Zambia - Age 4
The big day is finally here! Lwiza has started her healing journey with CURE Children's Hospital of Zambia. First on Dr. Shawa's list, our dear friend Lwiza didn't have to wait long before she went in for surgery. The medical team swang into action as they started Lwiza's corrective osteotomy, a procedure that involves straightening the bone between her knee and hip. After the procedure, the same procedure was done to straighten the bone beneath her knee and ankle. The Surgical team wrapped up her surgery by putting a cast on Lwiza's straightened legs to aid in her healing process. We are overwhelmed with joy as Lwiza's surgery was a success! Please keep praying for her as she begins to recover from the surgery. And thank you for generously donating to sponsor her surgical treatment.

Pemphero
Malawi - Age 13
"I am so excited to be back at CURE Malawi," Pemphero told us. This young lady is back in our ward after a few weeks of being at home! She's here for another surgery on her femur bone to hold the bone together as it corrects! This procedure took about two hours to complete. We would like you to encourage and pray for a successful recovery as Pemphero is already out of her surgery!

Kepi
Zambia - Age 15
The smile alone shows how excited Kepi is that he is going home! Kepi has been discharged after a successful foot repositioning. "I'm so excited to be going home. I'll stay with my aunty while my dad returns to the village," Kepi smiled. Dr. Shawa covered Kepi's foot with an extra-strong fiberglass cast so that it would stay longer while he is home. We will meet Kepi again in a couple of weeks for a follow-up. Nevertheless, please continue praying for him as he recovers from home!

Meshack
Kenya - Age 8
Our little friend is now all grown up. in fact he now is able to run! His feet have healed very well. Today, he has come back after his review during our mobile clinic. His mother accompanied him all the way. It was such a joy seeing this precious boy today. We look forward to seeing him receive his final corrective surgery on his right foot! Let's welcome Meshack!

Diana
Kenya - Age 6
So far Diana has been healing well! She had some difficulties eating due to the slight pain she was having in her leg. Luckily, her grandma Lucina alerted the nurse,s and the doctors came and split the cast to relieve the pressure. Once the swelling in her leg goes down, they'll close the cast back up. But for now, Diana is still healing and is a lot more comfortable! Today, she is happily enjoying a cup of brown porridge to give her strength! We thank the Lord for the positive progress Diana is experiencing on her transformation journey.
