Ashenafi
Ethiopia - Age 14
Counseling and spiritual ministry are essential to the care we provide at the CURE Children's Hospital of Ethiopia. As the children we serve undergo surgical treatment to heal their physical bodies, the spiritual staff visit them every day, providing counseling and offering words of encouragement from Scripture. This morning, Spiritual staff member Yodit came by Ashenafi's bedside to check on how he was feeling after his recent surgery. Ashenafi, being the champion he is, was already up feeling recovered. Pleased by this, Yodit continued the trauma counseling and discipleship support she's been giving Ashenafi and his mom, Tajuri, ever since they were admitted to the hospital. We're very grateful to the CURE Ethiopia spiritual staff who counsel patients and help them learn about God every day during the course of their treatment. Thank you, CURE friends and partners, for joining the mission to "heal the sick and proclaim the kingdom of God."

Ashenafi
Ethiopia - Age 14
Brave Ashenafi recently went to the OR to begin his surgical treatment at the CURE Children's Hospital of Ethiopia. His surgeon, Dr. Tesfaye, removed his old bandages and cleaned his scalp, removing the dead and damaged tissue. Since most of Ashenafi's scalp was damaged by the hyena attack, Dr. Tesfaye took some skin from Ashenafi's thigh and grafted it to his scalp. The successful surgery ended with Dr. Tesfaye applying a new bandage to Ashenafi's scalp. Ashenafi is now back in the ward recovering. Please pray for his speedy recovery and send encouraging messages to aid his healing. Thank you!

Salamatou
Niger - Age 16
Salamatou is recovering very well after surgery to improve mobility in her right arm and hand, thanks to your prayers and encouragement. "I see much progress in the healing of my arm. I thank God and the people at CURE who encourage me,” said Salamatou. Before leaving for home, Roumana, one of our nurses, changed Salamatou's bandage and advised her not to get water on it and to take care of it so the healing would be perfect. Salamatou will be back in a week for a follow-up visit. Please continue to pray for her recovery. Stay blessed!

Emmanuel
Niger - Infant
Emmanuel is healing well after surgery to repair his cleft lip! He and his mom returned to the guesthouse to stay so the medical team can continue to monitor his healing and change his bandages daily. "His face has already changed; it’s wonderful," says his mom, Yonroira. "I'm thankful to CURE Niger for this wonderful work and the love they show my child and me." Thank you for supporting CURE and making surgery possible for children like Emmanuel. Bless you all for what you do!

Aron
Zimbabwe - Age 2
https://vimeo.com/891866833/61ee89e6ce?share=copy. Even after surgery and casting to correct his clubfoot, Aron is not deterred! He is all smiles and cannot keep still. He was discharged from CURE Zimbabwe in high spirits and looking forward to his recovery! Thank you for making his surgery a possibility. Please continue praying for him while he heals at home. Thank you!
