Anne Mulwa one of Africa’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government

We are pleased to announce that Anne Mulwa, Nursing Director of CURE Kenya, received two awards from Africa’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government (MIW) for 2019.

  1. MIW Country Winner for Kenya under the Medicine and Veterinary sector
  2. MIW Regional Winner for East Africa under the Medicine and Veterinary sector

MIW is a recognition platform that celebrates women who are making outstanding contributions in their economies and respective sectors throughout Africa. Making use of an independent judging panel of business leaders, MIW identifies Africa’s leading women and their achievements. These women are recognized at regional events across the continent culminating in a continental gala event where the leading women in a variety of economic sectors are identified.

“Anne’s leadership and devotion to promote the finest nursing care throughout the hospital is an inspiration and an example of what CURE nurses do on a daily basis behind the scenes. Her goal along with all of the CURE nurses is to ensure the care of each child and family who walk through the doors of CURE is the best they can provide.” – Dr. Rebecca Threatt, CURE Director of Nursing

Through this experience, Anne shared a few key lessons she had learned with us.

  • God sees every effort even when done in secret.
  • You do not have to be known by the government or influential people for you to make an impact; wherever God has placed you, that is your sphere of influence
  • Transforming lives is at the heart of God. This transformation does not require doing big things in a mediocre way, instead, it’s doing small things in excellent ways.
  • Influence requires that God shows you a unique way of working with and for others.

“I found it very hard to believe until I went to the venue of the functions in Nairobi and found that the event was big and included the entire East African countries. I thank God for everything!” –  Anne Mulwa

Six regional winners, including Anne, received an official invitation to participate in the Continental award that was to be held in South Africa in March 2020 (it was postponed due to COVID-19). We are proud of Anne and excited that she is being recognized for her efforts in a big way!
