September 2018 Prayer Guide

Dear friends,

For 20 years it’s been the practice of CURE’s US co-workers to gather on the third Wednesday of the month to pray. This year Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, falls on the third Wednesday of September. On this holy day of prayer, the high priest stood between the Mercy Seat and Israel, interceding for their “at-one-ment” or reconciliation with God (see Leviticus 16).

Day of Atonement remains the holiest of days on the Jewish calendar—a time of rest, reflection, and repentance—and a central remembrance for Christians since Jesus Christ has become our means of “at-one-ment” or union with God. Those in Christ now serve as a community of priests (1 Peter 2:9), representatives through whom God makes his appeal to the world to come and be reconciled (2 Corinthians 5:20).

The mission of CURE is one of reconciliation. As surgery and other treatments have the power to reconcile children to health, the gospel is the power that reconciles children and their families to God and to the community of Christ. On this special day of prayer, please join with us as we intercede on behalf of those throughout the network who today extend the the gift of “at-one-ment” in the name of Christ.

Praying with you,

Cathy Morgan
Prayer and Member Care Coordinator

Friends

First let us give the Lord thanks for the abundance of all things. Please pray that the Lord would deliver his people from evil men; That the Lord would preserve his people from violent men, who plan evil things in their heart and stir up wars continually. Pray against the spirit of anti Christ, false witness, terrorism, hatred, and violence. Please pray and intercede without ceasing that God’s will be done in the lives of the world’s leaders and for our leaders to seek God and listen to Him. Pray that they would be surrounded by godly counsel and, that our leadership would personally know God and the salvation found through faith in Jesus Christ alone. That we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. God can turn the hearts of kings. Earnestly pray that the people of America and its leaders will humble themselves and seek the Lords face and turn from their wicked ways. Pray that the Lord would hear from heaven and forgive our countries sins and heal our land. God Bless America Pray that the Lord would grant peace in America, that we may lie down and no one will make us afraid. Please pray for revival and that the Lord would pour out his spirit on his servants, throughout the world both men and women. Pray for the peace of Israel. Gods will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus Name, Amen.

My family is in need of prayers. We are selling our house because we have a new one and the people who are buying it are now delaying the closing. This is a financial blow to my family which we can not take. Please pray this deal goes through so my family does not suffer the stress and financial strain this situation is causing. It is taking a toll on my marriage, my kids and my husbands mental health. I believe God had a plan even though I don’t understand it.
