February 2018 Prayer Guide

Dear friends,

In this season of Lent, the CURE community is considering the ancient prayer “Jesus, son of God, have mercy on me a sinner,” given to us by the blind man in Luke’s gospel.1 Truly, we need mercy to see as Jesus does: that it’s possible for a tax collector be justified,2 for children to lead the way into the kingdom of heaven,3 that to inherit eternal life we may need to release what has become most important to us.4 Unless we receive our sight, we may end up misunderstanding what Jesus came to do and correcting him about the pathway to salvation.5

But thanks be to God: Jesus came into the world to give sight to the blind.6 Our prayers for mercy are always answered with such grace.

Over the next six weeks we invite you to join us in such prayers. As you pray for the concerns of CURE, remember that Jesus declares the poor in spirit, those in mourning, the meek and the persecuted are blessed and members of the kingdom of heaven. Pray for deeper understanding of the character of the kingdom we proclaim throughout the network.

Praying with you,

Cathy Morgan
Anchoress

Programs

May you help us, please, pray for our patients’ families in Burundi. All of them keep struggling for the transport fees to make clinic visits. Some of them come from remote villages in the mountainous areas. We would like to see more new blessings in Burundi, people should especially know about the true salvation and the blessings it gives us. In many areas here, people are thinking that to go to church means salvation. We need a revival around here.
