“When I grow up, I want to be a soccer player.”
The CURE Clubfoot program in Malawi recently celebrated Clubfoot Fun Day. Under the theme “Raising a Clubfoot Free Generation,” kids who were born with clubfoot and had successfully completed treatment were invited for a day of fun and games! They competed in soccer and many other competitive sports where they ran and jumped and did other physical exercise that would have been impossible without Ponseti treatment!
Their parents and CURE staff were around to cheer them on and congratulate them on their fast feet! Thanks to CURE, and all its sponsors, we are definitely making the impossible possible, one foot at a time!
Kids were up bright and early in their CURE Clubfoot T-shirts! They were shy but excited.
Straight feet, a ball, and a huge smile—all ready to play!
The guest of honor from the Football Association of Malawi, John Kaputa, officially began the games with a little friendly competition.
The spectators, made up of guardians and friends, all cheered for the kids every step of the way!
The kids were divided into separate teams.
There was a red team and a pink team.
