California church partners with CUREkids

First Presbyterian Church of Oxnard, CA, had a special Mother’s Day fundraiser for CUREkids.   “Bountiful Bonnets” raised nearly $2,000 to fund the treatments of two CUREkids.   Ladies wore bonnets to church on Mother’s Day, and men pledged a dollar or more for each bonnet in worship that day.  Pastor Ted Brandt says,

We chose CUREkids because of our relationship with CURE, our trust in CURE to do what it promises and to use funds faithfully, and the biggest reason is that we believe passionately in CURE’s mission to impact kids’ lives and families in the most desperate parts of the world with medical and spiritual help.  CUREkids hits us as a wonderful way of connecting with specific children.   Our church sent a small team to the CURE hospital in the DR a couple of years back, and we still feel a connection to the kids and families we met there.

Our church had perhaps our most impactful and meaningful Mother’s Day ever, knowing that our gifts were helping to heal children and bless mothers in the name of Jesus.
