Introducing CUREkids

Chisomo Needs a CURE

What is CUREkids and who is Chisomo?

Chisomo lives in Malawi and has burn contracture, and in Malawi the sort of specialty medical care Chisomo needs is scarce. There are 100 million children in the world just like Chisomo who have little hope for the future.
Many can't play with their friends or go to school, and when Chisomo grows up, things that we hope for like marriage or finding a job will be difficult or impossible...all because Chisomo has a curable disability! But you can change Chisomo's life forever.
You can help

You can help Chisomo right now. Maybe you can afford the $565 that will provide the care he needs. Maybe you can offer $30. Or maybe you can introduce Chisomo to others who can help...

About Chisomo

An accident over 2 years ago drastically changed his life. In an instant, his left arm was reduced to a fixed position, the elbow stuck at 90 degrees. This may sound like a bad dream but this is reality for 7-year-old Chisomo. While playing near his home, he lost balance and fell onto a pot of boiling water. The result was not life-threatening but most definitely life-changing. He spent over 2 months in the hospital recovering, and now he's at CURE to release the contracted skin. Doctors will release the axilla and elbow, hopefully during the same procedure. Chisomo translates to "grace" in English and the name fits him perfectly. This little boy will get another chance at a normal life. A life free from deformity. A life free from ridicule and exclusion. A life with an inspiring story to tell others. Both of his parents work as domestic farmers to support the family financially. Chisomo is currently in the 1st grade and wants to get back to school with his friends soon. We can't blame him. He's endured a tremendous amount of pain and discomfort before arriving at CURE, and he still has a long way to go. Please pray for our new little friend and the journey to healing that's ahead of him.
