Thandizo lives in Malawi and has extra digits, and in Malawi the sort of specialty medical care Thandizo needs is scarce. There are 100 million children in the world just like Thandizo who have little hope for the future.
Many can't play with their friends or go to school, and when Thandizo grows up, things that we hope for like marriage or finding a job will be difficult or impossible...all because Thandizo has a curable disability! But you can change Thandizo's life forever.

At CURE, we see lots of children with extra digits. However, we can't remember last time a child had an extra digit on all limbs. For Thandizo, this is reality and she came to CURE for an excision of 4 extra digits, two toes and two fingers. A condition not new to the family, Thandizo's father also had an extra digit, as well as a cousin and an aunt. The CURE surgeons were able to remove all 4 extra digits in one short procedure. The wounds should heal in a month's time without complication, and we're glad she's gotten the treatment she needed!
