About Nora

A common problem that I’ve seen with patients at CURE is infection for wounds that were never treated properly. This is the case for Nora Manase, who we identified at a mobile clinic in Salima. Her femur is infected and the infected bone needed to be removed to prevent further damage in her leg. She experienced a nasty fall back in January while playing with friends in her village. It wasn’t a severe injury but the leg wound was left untreated and now months later, infection has set into the bone. She wasn’t able to put pressure on her leg which meant she wasn’t able to walk. Nora’s father is here at the hospital with her. I can’t wait to see little Nora healed. She is a quiet little girl who misses school and playing with her friends. Pray that the upcoming procedure goes smoothly without complication.

  3. Day 3Nora Manase is doing well in recovery at CURE Malawi. The bone infection was massive and the surgeons removed a huge chunk of her femur in her left leg. The bone will heal itself and no pins or rods were used due to the risk of infection.
