About Miracle

Being self-conscious of appearance at the age of 6 is a foreign concept to many, but not so for Malawians that possess deformities and untreated burns. Miracle has been living with a burn contracture, which limits use of her left hand. Her fifth digit will not fully extend which causes great pain and severely weakens her grip.

She was injured when she slipped on the kitchen floor in her home. When she fell, her left hand landed on a hot plate that was in use and received severe burns on her finger. She has been living with the burn contracture for over 5 years, hiding it at all times. Not many people know about her injury because she is embarrassed by it.

Her guardian, Alinafe, heard from others about CURE and decided it was time for Miracle to be treated. She can’t wait until Miracle is finally free from her burn and the trauma it has caused her. Miracle would like to become a nurse one day to treat others that need help.

  2. Day 49After Miracle's last visit, the doctors told her that doesn't need to return if she is fine with changing her bandage at home one more time . Although we would love to see her again, she may not return to CURE. Thanks for following her, I'm sure she's loving the fact that every day, her left hand is closer to being fully functional.
