Hope lives in Malawi and has infant clubfoot, and in Malawi the sort of specialty medical care Hope needs is scarce. There are 100 million children in the world just like Hope who have little hope for the future.
Many can't play with their friends or go to school, and when Hope grows up, things that we hope for like marriage or finding a job will be difficult or impossible...all because Hope has a curable disability! But you can change Hope's life forever.

Another child like Hope Makata needs his opportunity for life-changing care. You can help make that possible right now.

About Hope

Hope’s parents were absolutely thrilled when they learned that they were being blessed with a baby boy. The joy after his birth was short lived as they were told by doctors that Hope had a bilateral clubfoot condition. Worry set in and many supporters of the family rallied around them and prayed night and day for Hope.

A group of supporters visited the Makata home and informed them about CURE and the Clubfoot Clinic providing first class treatment for infants. The mother remained to have little faith in doctors providing a cure for Hope since her medical experiences have been less than helpful. But she showed up on Thursday with Hope, a precious baby boy with big bold eyes.

Hope was very cooperative and was casted on both legs. He will return next week to chart progress and see if he’s ready for the next step in clubfoot treatment. Please pray for Hope and his parents.

Treatment Note

Hope is suffering with clubfoot, but as an infant our doctors have determined that his condition can be treated through a less-expensive multi-stepped casting process called the Ponseti method. As a result, Hope's care will be reflected in (instead of one surgery) a series of updates throughout the casting process.

Hope's condition can be treated with a routine of casting and bracing both feet. Pray for this little guy, he's only 6 weeks old. http://bit.ly/P7ZtIe
