About Kingston
Genetics and nutrition are two highly underestimated components in children’s bone health, especially in the first world where children do not have the serious problems children in Africa and other developing countries do. Bones don’t just break or dislocate for no reason, they need to be provoked, and if the bone is healthy, some serious stress needs to be inflicted upon them. Eight-year old Kingstone Cosmas did sustain a fall, but because of his poor bone health, the rather minor incident caused him to be seriously injured.
In September 2011, Kingstone was riding bikes with his friends when he fell off the one he was riding. That one fall caused his left hip to dislocate and has left him in severe pain with extremely restricted mobility. He had an operation at a hospital near his home village, but it either didn’t work or him missing his follow-up appointment due to his grandfather’s death had serious consequences. Either way, Kingstone is still in bad shape, as he is forced to walk hunched over and clutching the backs of his knees for support.
He needs another operation and that is exactly what he is going to get! CURE is going to take care of that naughty knee once and for all. It is not only important to his daily function that his hip be fixed soon, but he hasn’t been to school since the accident, as he can’t manage to walk there. It’s time for him to get back to school and move on from this unfortunate mess.

Friday July 27, 2012- Day 18Kingston's treatment date has been changed to 09/10/2012 - Kingston is being discharged today! he is going back to his home in Lilongwe and he will be seen at the next clinic there. Please pray for him and the recovery of all his ailments as he goes!

Monday July 23, 2012- Day 14Kingston is in recovery at CURE Malawi - Kingston is still in the ward for now. The doctors, on ward round today, hope to get him some physical therapy this week and send him hom very soon. He has developed a sore on his right upper arm because of osteomyelitis, but that isn't the biggest concern right now. Please pray for his total recovery and the new sore that has appeared.
