About Elemes
Kids with bowed legs look like they are permanently saddled on a horse, and knowing how uncomfortable being saddled on a horse for even a short period of time can be, can you imagine living that way every day? Elemes Mzodzo has been living with her bowed legs since she started walking. She isn’t able to walk long distances, as is required of most Africans who live in the village, as she gets tired from her improperly structured legs. Her peers also spend a lot of time making fun of her because she looks different and walks different. Hopefully her six older brothers and sisters have defended and supported her, but now that she has come to CURE it won’t be an issue any more. In a few weeks when her casts are removed, Elemes will have straight legs and no one will make fun of her and she’ll never have trouble walking, ever again!
