About Stanley
Everyone goes into an operation thinking they’ll have it once and they’ll never have to worry about the problem again. Unfortunately, the human body can be rather stubborn and sometimes operations do not take as expected. Three-year-old Stanley Saka has had two operations for his equinus foot already, and is about to have a third, though it will be his first at CURE.
Stanley was born with feet that do not flex properly. When he began walking, he walked on the balls and the outsides of both of his feet. He had one surgery on his left foot at Mzimba Hospital and it was a success so his parents took him to have his right foot done as well. That time, however, the operation did not go as well as expected. After he healed, it was discovered the surgery had left his condition virtually unchanged. Stanley still limps around and is ready to have the remaining problematic foot fixed once and for all
Stanley isn’t the first one in his family to have this condition, in fact three of his cousins on his father’s side suffer from the same thing. He will be, however, the first to have both of his feet completely fixed, and who knows, maybe his cousins will see his results and have surgery on their feet as well. Stanley could become quite the trend setter!

JSON RSS- Day 89Stanley's follow up appointment has been scheduled for 11/25/2012 - Stanley had gone home to keep healing and, eventually, to get his cast taken off. Next time we see him, he will be going full steam ahead with his physical therapy and pretty much totally CURED!
