About Mary
Mary is such a sweet little girl. She shines when she walks into a room, and her joy is contagious. Mary is so happy regardless of her current condition. Her problems seemed to be coming from her hips, and as I began to speak with her, she confirmed what I had been suspecting, saying, “I would like the doctors to do something for my hip, but the doctors said they will start with my knees.” As I finished writing down what she'd said, I looked up and caught little Mary just grinning at me. I wanted to freeze time, for in that moment, I felt as if I was immersed in love. For a split second, God allowed me to see Mary the way He sees her. Not crippled, not deformed, but loved. Immensely loved, and we both broke out in a belly laugh.
She then continued to tell me how her hips caused her a lot of pain and walking was always difficult. But as the doctors discussed, they agreed that it would be most beneficial to take her through a surgery that will release her hamstrings first. Her difficulties in walking come from her constantly flexed knee and tight Achilles tendon. After this procedure doctors can then tackle her hip.
After our meeting, I watched her slowly walk out of the observation room and down the hall. Five minutes later I looked down the hall to see that she had stopped half way to rest and catch her breath. I am so excited to see Mary again in August, for I know this surgery is going to greatly improve her current situation! Be praying for Mary has she continues in her journey of healing with CURE.

Day 102Mary at the clinic last week. she was seen by our doctor Adero and later had her cast removed by our physiotherapists. We continue to pray for her and her recovery. God willing we will be seeing her again in February next year. http://bit.ly/UN3VuA
Monday October 8, 2012- Day 68Mary's follow up appointment has been scheduled for 10/04/2012 - Mary is heading home*!! Doctors gave our girl a new cast change and she was out the door! We will see her again in October for a review! Continue to pray for her as she recovers at home!
