About Victor
Victor has a Joy surrounding him. It’s the kind that demands attention and could draw even the coldest of hearts to become tenderly warm. In a clinic with a ton of little ones running around with precious faces and sweet smiles, my eyes and my heart were immediately beckoned towards Victor.
Victor’s parents passed away when he was just a baby and his aunty, Rosemary took him in without question, although knowing in the back of her mind it would be a strain on her already existing family. Her heart beats for Victor like he was her own, so all the adjusting, transitioning, and hardships were gladly accepted and taken on. As Rosemary and I were discussing Victor's medical history she explained to me that, "When Victor turned four, he began exhibiting symptoms of malaria and the doctors immediately put him on Malaria medication, when the Malaria did not leave him, I changed hospitals and began the process of trying to get him diagnosed all over again. A correct diagnosis was finally given one month later; I was told that he had meningitis. During this time Victor had slipped into a coma and when he finally got out of the coma, he was behaving like a cerebral palsy patient.”
Victor now has slurred speech and walks with great difficulties. His aunt has had to enroll him in a special school. “I have noticed a lot of improvement, especially after he joined the school, I hope that with this surgery, the improvements will keep coming,” she told me smiling enthusiastically. He will be receiving an ATL, Achilles tendon lengthening procedure with CURE in July and we are praying that God will bless the surgery and his recovery and be able to walk labor free! I cannot wait for the day I get to wrap my arms around Victor again and feel the joy he carries with him, he is truly a blessing to all he comes into contact with.

JSON RSS- Day 317Victor was not at the clinic with his guardian when we went to their home area last week. We are just praying that he is doing well. God willing we shall see him when we return to his home town Kitale in June
Thursday April 4, 2013 - Day 246This was his first ever miss, honestly I was not expecting him to be amongst those who miss their appointments. Hoping to get through to his aunt and let them know that we will be around again in March.
