Margaret lives in Kenya and has an arm deformity, and in Kenya the sort of specialty medical care Margaret needs is scarce. There are 100 million children in the world just like Margaret who have little hope for the future.

Many can't play with their friends or go to school, and when Margaret grows up, things that we hope for like marriage or finding a job will be difficult or impossible...all because Margaret has a curable disability! But you can change Margaret's life forever.

About Margaret

After Margaret injured her arm while playing at school, nothing was really done to address it. By the time her Aunt Nancy picked her up from school that afternoon, Nancy could immediately tell that something was wrong. So instead of heading home, they headed to the hospital. Some X-rays were done, and later, she was casted. But by the time the cast came off four weeks later, something was still wrong. That’s when they sought for second and third opinions and landed in our hospital. I believe and pray by the time she gets off the cast this time round that Nancy will be able to smile with satisfaction.

  4. Day 55 She made it to her physio session today, but she's definitely not a fan of our physiotherapist, Elvis. He had to put her through some stretches that didn't feel awesome, but I keep thinking she'll thank him later. Her arm continues to improve, and Elvis gave her instructions to continue the stretches until their next appointment in a couple weeks :) http://bit.ly/If5Ypq

  5. Day 42 Margaret's follow up appointment has been scheduled for 04/10/2012 - Apparently Margaret came to clinic a week earlier so she did not show today. She has however already started her physiotherapy sessions and she will be back in April for the next session.

  6. Day 14 It was so good to see Margaret at her review appointment today...she had her splint removed & then after doctors looked her over, she was sent to our physiotherapy department to learn some range of motion exercises to start doing. Her and her aunt were advised to find a hospital nearby their home where Margaret could have physiotherapy sessions twice a week, in addition to doing the exercises at home. Now we're set to see them at the end of March for another review! http://bit.ly/zPiqXY
