About Marcos
Even when Marcos was young, his mother Grace would notice his legs having episodes of being “bent”, then they would correct themselves. So even when it happened four years ago, she thought that it would be short lived. Now four years later, he still has the condition, called rickets (vitamin deficiency leading to weak bones). She had known about rickets and had initially suspected that as the cause of Marcos’ deformity, but her knowledge of the disease was partial. She decided to wait once again and see if the condition would disappear if given enough time. It didn’t. In fact, it became worse, until she finally began seeking help seriously.
Her initial search led her to a doctor in a small town in Kenya. In her opinion, the doctor didn’t really have a clue on what he was supposed to do, but he didn’t want to admit that to them. As a result, they ended up using a lot of money on hospital appointments that did not end up bearing any results.
At the point that Marcos’ condition started affecting both legs, Grace finally resolved to find an alternative help for her son. Her search and consultation finally led her to CURE International. Here he was scheduled for surgery as a matter of priority, and we thank God that the operation on his right leg went as planned. Now we’re praying for continued healing for his right leg and similar success for the surgery that we’ll eventually do on his left leg.

JSON RSS- Day 74 Marcos's follow up appointment has been scheduled for 08/23/2012 - No show :( but I choose to believe that he is okay. Let us hope we will see him during our next clinic in Nakuru.
Friday May 4, 2012 - Day 69 Congratulations! Marcos's funding goal is met!
Sunday April 29, 2012 - Day 59 Marcos's follow up appointment has been scheduled for 05/03/2012 - Marcos did not show up for his follow up appointment so unless he shows during another clinic here in Kijabe, I want to believe we will see him again in his home clinic in Nakuru, early next month.

Wednesday March 21, 2012 - Day 30 Marcos's follow up appointment has been scheduled for 04/18/2012 - Finally he showed! And he finally got off his first cast and also had the pin on his knee removed. After observation, our physiotherapists re-casted him, but this time with a lesser cast known as a cylinder cast. We should be seeing him again in April.
Wednesday March 21, 2012 - Day 28 Well, probably needless to say, Marcos didn't show up for his appointment last week, but we're still trying to track him down to find out why. Hang in there!
