About Milton
Milton was born in one of the most impoverished towns in Honduras, and he comes from a marginal farming family. In other words, his entire life has been rooted in agriculture. Ten years ago, when he was 6, he was trying to domesticate a horse to help his father with the earth plow. Milton mounted the horse, and then suddenly, the animal reared up, making him fall down and dislocate his left elbow. Since he didn’t have much pain, and because of the lack of medical facilities in his rural town, he didn’t receive any medical attention, and let the elbow “healed” itself.
Unfortunately, yet another accident happened just four months ago. As he was trying to repair the rooftop of his barn, he tripped and fell off. Certainly God protected him again, and nothing but his already dislocated elbow was affected. Again, due to the lack of resources, he simply let the pain dull out, but this time, he lost the ability to move his arm and the entire thing was essentially stuck in one position. Milton’s mother was very concerned about her son’s condition and asked her church for help to bring him to San Pedro Sula. The church’s pastor quickly got in contact with his counterparts in the city, and they helped collect funds for Milton and brought him to CURE Honduras. Our doctors say that he only needs a minor surgery to clean up the scar tissue that keeps his elbow from moving, so hopefully, Milton will be good to go in no time!

Day 16Milton had his cast removed today! He also had most of his stitches removed and was sent to physical therapy for two weeks to help him with his arm mobility.
