About Jose

Jose is nearly ten months old, and for his whole life his parents have lived with the thought that he will always be that way. He never had any treatment for his condition until a friend recommended that they bring him to our CURE hospital to see if treatment was possible. Now that they have brought him, he will begin casting treatment and will be able to learn to walk normally, saving him from a life of physical disability which would prevent him from being able to work and having an independent life. While here, Jose's young parents also received the Gospel, and although they currently don't attend a church, were given a Bible and are encouraged to become connected to a church near there hometown.

Treatment Note

Jose is suffering with clubfoot, but as an infant our doctors have determined that his condition can be treated through a less-expensive multi-stepped casting process called the Ponseti method. As a result, Jose's care will be reflected in (instead of one surgery) a series of updates throughout the casting process.
