The ideal situation is that as soon as a parent recognizes their child has a disability or deformity, they will turn to CURE for answers, as they already know about and trust us. The goal is to alleviate the feelings of hopelessness that grow into acceptance of the child\u2019s condition, which lead to them having to live with it a lot longer than necessary. We have reached that goal in the Yonasi family. Manale Yonasi had her first experience with CURE in 2003 when she brought her third born in to have treatment for clubfoot. Now she is back again with three-week-old Chinsinsi for bilateral clubfoot.<\/p> \n\n
Manale was not at all shaken when Chinsinsi was born with her deformity. For Manale and for a lot of African mothers, it is the norm to have a child with a birth defect because of poor, if any, prenatal care. This mom, thankfully, knew right where to go to fix the problem, easing the anxieties of realizing her child was not like a lot of the other children. Manale is very happy to be able to bring her daughter here, as she knows that CURE will make everything better.<\/p> \n\n
Chinsinsi is in good hands and will have straight feet before we know it. We are so thankful that CURE\u2019s goals are being realized and that there are people out there helping to help us fight infant clubfoot and all kinds of other deformities and disabilities.
