About Ayub
Ayub is a sweet little boy, just look at that face! He's coming to CURE for an operation because his left hip is out of place, and although it's not causing too much trouble at this time in his life, later it will be difficult for him to walk and most likely cause him pain.
He's an only child and his parents do private work. When they noticed he was walking with a little difficulty, they took him to another hospital, but the surgery that he needs could not be provided there so he was sent here to us. He loves to play at home, and according to his parents, he's just a really happy child.
He'll be back here in a little over a month to start treatment. He'll require a surgery called an open hip reduction, which is not a fun one. To top it off, he'll be put in what's called a spica cast that will cover from his waist down - also not fun so prayers for him and his family will be much appreciated. You can show support by following his story or by contributing financially if you feel compelled to do so. Thank you!

Wednesday August 22, 2012 - Day 65Unfortunately, the closed hip tactic was unsuccessful. He's getting the open hip reduction surgery right now.
Wednesday August 22, 2012 - Day 65Ayub's treatment date has been changed to 08/22/2012 - The doctors are going to start by doing a closed hip reduction on Ayub. That means that instead of opening him up in surgery, they'll apply pressure to his hip in order to put it in place without making any incisions. If this first attempt does not work, he'll get an open hip reduction. Let's pray that this one is it for the little guy!
