About Getaneh
Getaneh cannot wait to get surgery to fix both of his feet. He will no longer have to listen to the other kids calling him "broken boy" or making fun of him because he "cannot catch up to them when they run." His father says that just the thought of Getaneh's surgery makes him happy.
Both of Getaneh's parents are farmers, and they teach him and his three brothers to become strong so that he can work hard and make a good life for themselves. Getaneh has never been to school, but his parents hope to send him once he heals from his surgery.
Getaneh's dreams are to play soccer and to someday become a doctor. The family is so thankful they heard about CURE through word of mouth so that Getaneh can have a chance to run and play just like the other children.

Monday April 2, 2012 - Day 56 Getenah is still recovering in the ward. He's been in some pain, but he still smiles a lot.
Friday March 30, 2012 - Day 54 Getaneh is in recovery at CURE Ethiopia - His surgery is finished, and he also received a cast change on the other foot.
