Mead Minutes: Last Times

Dusk on the Mara Good morning from Kenya!  Early mornings have seen nice thick blankets of promising dark clouds cross Kijabe and drift across the Rift below.  Each day we look for rain, but our hopes are not wringing the clouds and drenching the land.  The roads are dusty, red paths both in Kijabe and down in the valley.  The yard and valley still cling to their green colors, but the deep green of healthy growth is slowly fading under the strong African sun.  Crops and, therefore, people are stressed as the rains go to other locations. Mead Minutes: Yusuf’s surgery

Good morning from Kenya!!  I know it is not Sunday, but we are soon off to safari with friends.  I still managed to brew a quick cup of coffee and will dash off for rounds soon.  Our friends are enjoying their first trip to Africa, so this trip to see the big animals will be great.  I love watching the amazement on the faces as the scenery and spectacle of the wildlife unfolds.  On the way to the Mara we will stop to visit Helen, Ntutu, and the widows to introduce our US friends.   Even after many trips, I still anticipate the time with special joy.  I am a game park junkie for sure.
