CURE Kabul Celebrates International Day of the Midwife
Last month, CURE Kabul celebrated International Day of the Midwife (held every year on May 5). The hospital took part in a two-day conference conducted by the Afghan Midwives Association (AMA). Three midwives from the CURE hospital gave presentations at the conference, sharing their midwifery experiences and their observations on the care of mothers and their families.
The AMA was started in May 2005 and has approximately 1,600 members. It advocates for the midwifery profession and strengthens the role of midwives to ensure the well-being of women and their families in Afghanistan.
CURE International salutes our midwives for their dedication and professionalism.
