Oasis Hospital Construction Update

Construction of Oasis HospitalThe construction on our new state-of-the-art hospital is moving along quickly! Despite temperatures registering at 115 degrees this week, SISK Builders are plowing ahead with the new building. Each morning I walk from my staff accommodations to my office, which is the length of the front of the new building. It struck me today just how exciting it is that, within a year, I will no longer be walking across the front of this building but will be walking into the front doors of a new facility. When I arrived to Oasis in September, the construction site looked more like a meteor had landed in Al Ain and created a huge crater. Today, I am looking at the skeleton of what will be the new Oasis Hospital!

Tuesday in Kijabe

Tuesday in Kijabe. Just another day with warm weather, gentle breezes and fresh mountain air, or the lack thereof. These high altitudes are doing a number on my lungs as I trudge up the hill to the hospital every day. But maybe I should just get into better shape!

Today I spent a great deal of time outside of the hospital. I pretty much know what is going on inside. But I was also fascinated to see what is going on OUTSIDE.

CURE Construction Update

Construction workers laying block, hammering nails and painting walls have become almost as common as nurses and doctors at our CURE hospitals over the last few months. There are many construction projects going on within our CURE network. Once they are completed, our hospitals will be able to reach even more children with life-changing care!
