Chad Nelson, the son of Dr. Scott Nelson, the medical director of our hospital in the Dominican Republic, has become quite the national celebrity in the D.R. thanks to his prolific photography skills.

The 12 year old was one of eight winners in an international photo contest conducted by the Green Wave, a global campaign that educates children and youth about biodiversity.  Chad’s photo was chosen from close to 2,600 entries from 99 countries.

Chad’s photo earned him an all expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. and some extensive press coverage in the Dominican Republic. (Dr. Nelson also had a chance to talk about the work of CURE in the D.R!)
