Thank You Air1, Brant Hansen, and Club Awesome Live!

Two weeks ago, I had the privilege of accompanying longtime CURE friend and supporter, Brant Hansen of Air1 radio and some great artists from Tooth and Nail Records in a four-city event called Club Awesome Live. The tour got its name from Brant’s Friday afternoon radio show where Air1 listeners celebrate God’s goodness… and Fridays… and robots.

We had the chance to meet hundreds of new CURE supporters and fans in San Antonio, Houston, Oklahoma City, and Phoenix and we offered folks at those shows the chance to Give the Gift of Healing to their friends and family this Christmas by giving CURE Gift Cards for Christmas.

Thank You, Friends of CURE and Brant Hansen

This month, the Mornings with Brant radio show’s very own Brant Hansen took his second trip to our hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan.  He asked you to join him in bringing loving encouragement and support to the mothers and babies that receive much-needed care at the hospital.

CURE and Brant Hansen sent out the call, and you responded.  With boxes full of tiny hats, mittens and other lovingly-knitted items.  With your generous contributions. With your heartfelt prayers.

Because of you, more than 2,200 moms and their babies will find a safe haven at our Kabul hospital.  Hundreds of tiny newborns will be warm during the cold, harsh Afghan winter.

This video says more than we could ever write here.  Thank you so much everyone.  We’ll always remember your generosity.

A Prayer and a Praise

I wanted to pass along a couple of things.

First, a prayer request for the continuing cholera outbreak in Haiti (which has also spread to Florida and the D.R.).

We’ve been getting updates from Phil Hudson, CURE’s relief director in Haiti.  His prayer requests:

Safety for all. Peace in the country. And for the 80 CURE spiritual life counselors working among the people.

I also wanted to pass along a praise.  Brant Hansen from WAY-FM continues to spend the week at our hospital in Afghanistan.  All this week we’ve invited people to help us provide pre- and post-natal care to 2,000 moms at our hospital. As of today, enough has been raised to care for 1,800 moms, with another day left in the campaign!  We give thanks to God for the immense response so far.

There is still time to give. Go here if you want to help an Afghan mom and her precious newborn baby.
