Your urgent prayers are requested for Haiti as Tropical Storm Tomas bears down on the island. You can read more about the storm here.

Also please pray for the ongoing cholera outbreak, that it will not be made worse by the storm.  Here’s a story on that for your additional information.

We just received this email from Phil Hudson, our relief director in Haiti:

The power company cut power in advance of storm. We are not expecting much in Port-au-Prince but low-lying areas will probably flood from the storm surge. I’m expecting phone and internet disruption from about 4 p.m. today.  Cholera has made big jump last three days. 6,750 hospitalizations (2,000 new in last 72 hrs) and 425 confirmed deaths.
